Wrapped carefully in a small attic box, this nativity waited quietly for decades until Leona pulled back the tissue and found every familiar face still together.
The pain is gently worn from years of careful handling, giving each figure the warmth only time can create.
Leona remembers Lavinia displaying them on the fireplace hearth each December before tucking them away again.
She now hopes someone might continue that tradition in their own story.
Some treasures don't need to be perfect. They simply need to be remembered.
